this shoot was for my portrait assignment. my favorite part of portrait photography is trying to capture who the person is and trying to create a certain sense of emotion with each image. it's easy to capture beauty with a model like ellen but i think i did pretty good in capturing a little bit of who she is. she has such a youthful innocent look to her and it shows through the pictures. she is such a classic beauty. i have looked up to ellen ever since i met her a couple years ago. she has such grace and poise and is so confident in everything she does! she always has the best advice and has so much integrity.. . and she is so MUCH FUN!! she is truley beautiful inside and out. she is an interior design major at utah state and inspires me everyday! i love her! thanks for your time ellll.

katlin storm is a rockstar!!! we had fun. we were trying to do a photo for my flash assignment (grr so frustrating) i ended up just getting fed up with the assignment so me and katlin decided to do something else! i loved how they turned out. . katlin is my favorite model! i love you!

ryan had his hair cut into a mullet for a while. it was scary.. and his beard made it even worse. haha. pretty funny. he's a nut and i love that but i wasn't sad to see it go. haha. he finally cut it on thursday! i have known him for about a year and i have never seen his hair this short! the picture of him with his mullet and beard are us at the soccer game and the other 2 are hikin up to mary's lake today. :) happy fall! (sorry mom and dad.. we do kiss sometimes) haha.

conference!

i love conference weekend! ryan and i got to go to the last session of conference today! it was awesome. i loved elder holland's talk. it blew me away! so powerful! my weekend was very busy so it was a nice break.. i started work friday night at 10pm.. got off at 5pm the next day.. and went back saturday night at 10pm.. then got off at 1pm today! ryan met me at work and we hurried downtown! after conference we were stuck in traffic for about a half hour and i enjoyed every minute! ryan and me don't get to spend as much time together as we want so being stuck in traffic with him before i had to go back to work was nice. haha. gave us a chance to talk and just be with eachother. :) i am a dork. haha. i hope everyone enjoyed their weekend. thanks for the tickets papa!

hello! i hope everyone is having a busy, beautiful fall. i am keeping busy! i just got a 2nd job! i am going to nanny 2 days a week and then every other saturday night. it will be good to have some extra money. my goal is to save it for school,camera equipment, traveling, and actually having a savings account..... usually i spend my extra money on clothes and sushi.. oops. we will see how it goes. haha. i bet my mom and dad laughed out loud reading that. :) saving money + sami jo=oxymoron. i am trying to be a grown up though! haha. anyways.. life is good. it's crazy and i like it! here is some pics from the last week. me and ryan finally have a normal picture together where we are both smiling! it's a miracle. we are quite the weirdos and seem to bring out the weirdness in eachother even more when we are together. haha. anyways. i hope everything is going great for everybody. keep up the good work with the blogs. i love looking at all of them!

I am a horrible blogger! SOOO much has happened since my last blog so the few people that actually look at my blog I will update you. :) So I was planning on moving to SLC in the fall to finish school but ended up getting a job sooner than I thought! I ended up moving the first week in July and started my new job at a group home with people with disabilities the very day I moved. Most of you that know me know that I HATE big cities. I was dreading leaving Logan and moving to somewhere I knew I wasn't fond of. Luckily Ryan lived in Draper for the summer so he helped me adjust and enjoy the rest of my summer in "the big city." It was hard when he moved back to logan for school and I knew all of my friends were together in Logan having a good time without me. Luckily I am taking 15 credits and work 59 hours a week so now I don't have much time to think about missing Logan. haha. I have prayed for strength to have a good attitude about Salt Lake and enjoy the time I am here and grow from it. I really like my ward and Luckily I am starting to "like" Salt Lake and I'm adjusting better than I thought. I get to see my friends every week still because I go see Ryan once a week and he is here a lot of the weekends so life is good! I have a couple more semesters here in SLC with my photo program and then I will move back to Logan in May.
