i'm alive! but charlie's dead...

sad news.. today katie came over to my house for lunch and the first thing i did was made her follow her to my room to meet charlie!! when we got to the fish bowl the conversation went a little something like this... "he is so cute how he looks lazy and tired.."-me "he looks really dead."-katie... he had a very traumatic life and i won't embarrass myself with letting you know the details.. but he lived a short life of 36 hours in the sami jo hansen household. poor guy. RIP.

i'm alive!

hellooo.. I'm not really an active member of the bloggin world. My family is gettin after me so I best post somethin. :) It's been a busy month with finals and getting ready for the Christmas season! :) Everything is going pretty good right now. I love my roommates and that makes things a lot easier.. We had KK Christmas this last weekend with my roomies. It was a blast. Larla got me peace sign jammies. Oh and I bought a fish! His name is Charles Mortimer Hansito. His friends and family call him Charlie. He will have to do until I can get a puppy. :) I hope everyone is having a merry and bright Christmas season. I love you all!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ASH.

Happy 22nd Ash! We had a blast together on her birthday.. We chilled at the Gateway with Steph, Alex, and Wheat for a bit and then went to the Panic at the Disco/Dashboard concert at the E center. It was a lot of fun. I love this girl and hope her day was all she hoped it would be... :) oh and random.. but we dressed COMPLETELY opposite (which we usually do) she was wearing a cute t-shirt, jeans, and her Red Sox hat.. (she looked adorable) and I was wearing my 'hippie dress'.. but for some reason so many people thought we were twins or sisters and kept looking at us weird and asking us. Funny. I didn't mind. I do not mind at all.. I mean.. look at her!?!? She's so purrdy. We also acted like a couple the whole night which you will see from our pictures. haha. We are such dorks.

VEGAS!

Vegas was so much fun! Thanks Mandi, Dust, JJ, and Kai for the time of our lives!

VEGAS BABY!

so... Me and Ashley Ann Welch are driving to Vegas tomorrow! I'm so excited. I'm actually looking forward to the drive because me and Ash don't get to see eachother as much as we would like to and it will give us a lot of bonding time. I'm excited for all the crazy things that are bound to happen because they always seem to when we are together. Haha. We are staying with Mandi and her family and I can barely wait.. I can't believe it's tomorrow! We have been looking forward to this forever it's crazy that it's finally here! We are going to hit the town Friday night (hehe) and then shop and play in the sun on saturday... and then Phantom of the Opera saturday night!! I'm so excited to dress up and can't wait for the show. We are going to church with Mandi on Sunday and then headed home that afternoon so we can be back to work on Monday. I of course will take a bunch of pictures to post. :) Have a good weekend everybody!

50 Years Old! I love my Daddy. I had plans to drive up to SV and take him to lunch but he already had plans of spending it by himself at the Utah football game... What a surprise.... haha.

High School Musical!

Highlight of my week=High school Musical play. It was fantastic. We even got pictures with the cast after. IT WAS AWESOME! My friends and me felt like little kids as we sang along and giggled with the kids behind us. The cast was great and extremely talented. I was smiling and laughing the whole time. I was in heaven. Haha. We are such dorks but it was a perfect day to end a long day of work and school. For all you HSM fans the middle picture we are pictured with Troy and Gabriella... and Sharpay and her twin brother. Sharpay was my favorite character. She did such a good job!

i'm in love.

I'm officially in love with Photography. Here's a couple of my assignments that were due this week. I'm learning so much already with school and I'm so excited. :) The first 3 pictures we were supposed to go completly against anything we would ever take pictures of. Go against any preconceptions we have of photography.. I had a hard time with this one. I'm finding myself to be a very closed minded photographer. I rarely think landscape shots are interesting and hate close up pictures of flowers. My favorite pictures to take are of people and I love lots of color in my pictures. We had to explain to the class today what our preconceptions were and why we shot the photographs we did and how they went against what we would usually take pictures of. It was a great learning experience to take pictures of things that I never would think to take pictures of and I hope to always more of an open mind when I'm shooting. This assignment taught me so much! My teacher laughed at my pictures which scared me at first.....but he said that somehow even taking pictures of trash I still managed to get a lot of color in my pictures and they still had a happy feel to them. Haha. So the second set of pictures I decided to do black and white. I'm not a big fan of black and white but I like the dramatic mood it gives the next set of pictures. Black and white pictures are now growing on me. I love the emotion that it portrays. The last three of Kase coloring we had to make a story with 3 pictures. I thought they turned out pretty good.. But then again any picture with Kase in it I'm probably going to like. haha. Anyways.. Enjoy! (hopefully) Thanks Katie and Kase for being my beautiful models.

back to school fool.

This school year has started off pretty good with a lot of fun things going on. These pictures are from 80's night, White Trash Bash, random house parties, and Bear Lake! While dressing up for 80's night I kept telling Laura, "I would seriously wear this outfit. I might wear it to work on Monday." She kept laughing thinking I was kidding.. But I was serious! And for the White Trash Bash I felt right at home... I'm proud to be a Redneck. In both of these occasions I just felt like an exaggerated version of myself! Haha. Pretty funny. I love having an excuse to dress up because I wish I could dress that extreme everyday but I do have a job and school I need to look a little professional for. Haha! It's been a fun school year so far. Fun but busy. I definitely lucked out with the roommate situation. Laura and I were nervous about moving in with 4 girls we didn't know but they turned out to be way awesome. Laura's been gone the past few weekends so It's been fun to hang out with them and I love how well all of us click! Good roommates sure make life easier. (Three of my roommates are in the White Trash picture.. I have my arm around one of them, Michelle, And the pregnant one is Jenna and the girl next to her in the green is her sister Steph) Oh and then the one when 4 of us are on the couch I'm laying on Jenna, and Steph is on the very end. Oh and the other pic of us sitting on the couch. The one where I'm surprisingly not laying on anybody Michelle is sitting to the left of me. Vienna.

I'm not much of a writer. I will try to express myself the best I can without pictures... Today has been a good day. As me and my best friend Ashley drove home from our friends house this morning we talked about a variety of subjects based on, friends, moving, school, family, and our future husbands. (That's a lot to cover on a drive home huh? haha) We also talked about how lucky we are to have each other and so lucky to have all the blessings we have in our lives. I enjoyed the rest of the day with my sister Katie, her friend Shirley, Kase, and little Tike. We went to the Farmer's Market (I bought some amazing jewelry and a sweet bag..of course I couldn't pass them up) and we enjoyed the sunshine, the food, and all the happy people browsing around and then I finished up the afternoon taking a hike up the canyon. I had a good day. Sometimes I worry. I worry too much about my life and my future. I sometimes get impatient and think my life is at a stand still. I worry that I'm never progressing and staying the same person. I worry everyday! When I express these worries to my daddy he always says.."it isn't a race Sam." I always think, 'easy for you to say! you're married with a career, house, children, and grandchildren.' But of course he is right. (he always is!) I was listening to the song Vienna by Billy Joel and I love the lyrics. I keep listening to it over and over again. Here's a few that stuck out to me...

Things will work out for me. I know they will. :) I need to slow down.. like I did today and appreciate this stage of my life and enjoy all I can. I need to learn to take one day at a time and do my best everyday. I'm learning. I'm trying to grow. I love my life. I love to know that I have so much ahead of me, but to also realize that life it toooo short to be worrying so much. Thanks for all your help. I hope this all made sense. 101 things about me!

Holy Crappppp! I've been working on this dang list all week. It's random and probably a waste of your time but If you're bored go ahead and read. Love you all. XOXO.

1. I love Tom Hanks. I think he is an amazing actor! He's so diverse in every one of his roles and puts his heart into everything. He reminds me of my dad (even though my dad is better looking) and that makes me love him even more. He's the greatest actor of our time and I can't wait to meet him one day!
2. I always have to have my nails cut short. Growing up playing the violin we had to have our nails short and so it just kind of stuck with me.
3. I LOVE music. I love singing. I love playing the violin. Listening and playing Pachelbel Cannon in D brings tears to my eyes. I love opera music and that also brings tears to my eyes. My favorite arrangement of music is the Messiah by Handel. At church I feel the spirit the most during the hymns and musical numbers! When I'm sad/happy/frustrated/stressed music is my vice. I love MUSIC!!!
4. I'm a hopeless romantic. I daydream of finding true love and I look forward to putting my whole heart into a relationship. I feel like I have so much love to give and look forward to finding my special boy.
5. I'm moody. Extremely moody. My close friends and family will get a special spot in heaven for putting up with me. Most of the time I'm really happy but when I'm not I'm very snappy, cranky, and cry over everything! Laura (my roommate and good friend) describes me as the most EXTREME person she's ever met. HA!
6. I love to hug! I love to kiss! I kiss my friends and family on the cheek and hug people I meet for the first time instead of shaking their hand. I love to cuddle with people!
7. I'm a procrastinator. It's horrible!
8. I'm bad with my money... But my dad's slowly rubbing off on me. He's always taught me how to manage my money but I just love spending it! My mom said when I was younger they would ask me what I wanted to be and I would say, "A customer!" At least I'm fulfilling my dreams! haha.
9. I love accessories. Especially purses and BIG, crazy earrings! Every time we go shopping Ashley holds me back from buying another purse.
10. I love chick flicks! My poor guy friends come over to watch movies and have to pick from 10 Tom Hanks movies and all my girly love movies. haha.
11. I'm very sensitive and take a lot of things personally. :(
12. I love pictures. I love taking pictures. (hence my major) I love capturing moments and taking pictures of the people I love.
13. I'm bad at school. I SUCK! BUT...For the first time in a couple years of college I'm actually interested in my classes and doing well in them. I only have a couple semesters left to have a degree in photography and I look forward to finally being done!!!!!
14. I love my family. They are my best friends. I'm so freaking lucky dude! They are so much fun and I love the different relationships I have with each of them. I wish I could explain all the beautiful things about each one of them.. BUT... we'd be here all night folks!
15. I love my friends! I love my high school friends and the new ones I've met since I've moved away from Star Valley. I love making new friends and feel like I have a lot of love to give to each of them. :)
16. I do a lot of things without thinking. I'm a space case! VERRRRY scatter brained... and blond... I feel like god made me that way to make other feel smart and have something to laugh at. Which I'm ok with... most of the time. I'm horrible with directions and I'm extremely forgetful. :(
17. I love art and wish so badly I could paint and draw. I love to learn about it and love to look at it.
18. I laugh. A lot. Loud.
19. I have a love/hate relationship with food. I wish I was one of those people that could said, "oh shoot... I forgot to eat lunch." I never forget to eat. Haha.
20. I love to play and watch sports. I love to play volleyball and softball. I also love dancing and I will always be a little cheerleader. :) (yes dancing and cheer leading are sports) I love to be active and I'm really competitive.
21. I love the outdoors. I'm so thankful for the environment and the beautiful world we live in. I'm happiest when I'm outside and I'm so thankful to grow up in beautiful Star Valley. I've been called a "tree hugger" on multiple occasions.
22. I'm a weirdo about sleep.I either go a few weeks with very little sleep.. We're talking like 2 hours a night.. I think one week this summer I got one hour of sleep each night.. It was HORRIBLE! I go through phases where I love to party and do crazy things all night long and then head to work at 7am... And then some weeks I will sleep for hours and hours and go to bed early and wake up late. Someday I will find a good balance....
23. I'm happiest when the gospel is my number 1 priority.
24. I love The Office. Great show. I also love Friends and only have 2 more seasons to buy to have all ten! I love those two shows and try not to get involved in any other t.v. shows. I let myself follow one t.v. show and The Office it is. I went through a phase where I wouldn't go hang out with my friends because I just couldn't miss Grey's Anatomy!!!! YUCK! I will never let myself be like that again. No offense to Grey's lovers! I just get addicted to things easily and need to watch myself. :)
25. I love smelling good. I put on lotion and perfume about 4 times a day. I'm always afraid I stink and I probably do because I wear way to much perfume!!! WAYYYY to much. But I don't care. I'm obsessed with having good breath and chew a lot of gum and brush my teeth a lot. It's a bad habit and I'm a little weird about it.
26. I txt too much. I'm trying to tone it down a bit.
27. I'm extremely impatient. It's sad.
28. I have a hard time making decisions. I think I'm getting better though...
29. I love being around people but am content with a night by myself.
30. I love going to concerts and I go to one at least every two months (sometimes more than that).. I go completely crazy and I'm one of those crazed fans you see in the crowd and roll yours eyes at.. (i get that from my mom)

47. I never match. I wear over sized weird t-shirts all the time and have odd style. I rarely wear dull colors and my closet looks like a unicorn threw up rainbows in it.

Hello! So I'm just loving my classes right now. I took my first quiz today and got 100%. That NEVER happens to me! I never get 100% on anything. Needless to say.. I'm very excited! I only have a couple semesters left to have my degree in Photography so I will be posting pictures throughout the semester from some of my assignments. Let me know what you think..
